Day 28 was yesterday

Well, day 28 came and went without any changes. The temperature was lower than 99.5 and I am hoping that is the reason we do not have ducklings yet.
I am not hearing any peeping or pecking yet either. There is movement in the eggs when I peep at them. The air sac is pretty small still too. Here is hoping for the best....

All 8 eggs are growing!

It has been hard waiting for the ducklings! The children are very anxious for the ducklings to arrive. We created a paper chain to help the preschoolers see how much longer we have to wait.
I candled all 8 eggs last night and they are all about the same size... about as big as my thumb nail.
We have names picked out and decided that the school-aged children will pair up the a younger preschooler to care for the ducklings that hatch.

Duck Eggs arriving today!

Today starts our duckling adventure. The momma duck laid the eggs this morning and we will pick them up from the feed store this afternoon.
They are in the incubator at 1:05 pm!
These are White Peking Duck eggs, all white ducks with yellow beaks. Babies are all fuzzy yellow. The eggs look bigger than the Rouen duck eggs we have done in the past.
